I have spent a number of years working in the fields of Media and Communications, especially for non-profit organizations in my native Cambodia and in Canada.

 

As a Social Media Manager/Producer/Director for BBC Media Action (2018-2020), I managed all-digital platform content and also produced original contents for online, Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram. I tracked all statistics of the all-digital platform, and did the analysis, and develop the strategy to improve what didn't go well. I managed the audience feedback on social media platforms. Moreover, I also wrote scripts to for a new TV show program, and also directed two episodes amongst the ten episodes. 

As a Transformational Development Communications Officer for World Vision Cambodia, (2008-2012) I implemented the Most Significant Change Technique/ Transformational Development Communications Project that included training field staff and youth communities, conducting coaching workshops and organizing learning events. In addition, I researched, edited and published stories to support fund-raising campaigns in donor offices including Canada and the United States.

 

As a Professional Photographer and Videographer, I supported the Communications 4 Development (C4D) team at World Vision Cambodia to train more than 200 young people in photography and videography techniques and video editing. I have also received several awards from World Vision International for my work in photography and storytelling.

Management of all digital platform content across Klahan9. Managed the production schedule and workflow of the digital team. Ensured production budgets are controlled, and content initiatives are delivered on time and within budget. Produced original contents for online, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube. Used Photoshop, Final Cut Pro and Adobe Audition to reversion content for digital audiences. Produced promotional content for digital platforms. Manage the audience's feedback on social media platforms. Ensured that BBC Media Action editorial guidelines are implemented across digital outputs. Devised interesting and creative ways to engage with audiences via social media and to signpost upcoming programs to them. Ensured consistency of branding across digital platforms. Shared data/audience engagement on social media platforms with the production team and to encourage the production team to regularly check and engage with the social media platforms. Developed a high level of audience engagement on our platforms, including timely responses to private messages, responding to audience questions/comments, thanking audiences for contributions, etc. Share social media expertise, and/or training, with the production team, mentors and other staff as appropriate. Identified and developed new partnerships with organizations that could contribute to the content of these services. Overseen scripting, casting, location arrangements, production schedules, post-production and delivery of the TV output. Ensured that the production operates within the BBC Editorial Guidelines and meets the needs of the audience. Lead pre-production, filming, and post-production for allocated outputs working closely at all times to the editorial brief of the Series Producer. Developed commentary script, direct commentary recordings and supervise post-production.

Determined marketing needs, identified local inspirational stories and supported strategic communications objectives with core portfolio directors and members. Prepared and profile local engaging stories across web, email and social media platforms to enhance and dovetail organization-wide communications and messaging in collaboration with National Volunteer Team. Worked with Ambassador Engagement and Corporate Engagement volunteer directors to understand the needs and motivations of ambassadors and teams. And crafted engaging stories about Walk Ambassadors, volunteers, donors and sponsors with Marketing, Media and Communications volunteer team.

Transformational Development Communications Officer
Jan 2008- Sept 2012

 

Gained valuable experience in photography and videography for the Transformational Development Communications project funded by World Vision Canada. As a project officer based in Cambodia, all stories of change were compiled and submitted to several Support Offices and donors where World Vision works in order to conduct fundraising campaigns. The main responsibility was to send all photos and videos together with articles regarding stories of change of the helpless children and the poor to World Vision Canada. Travelled to other countries to gather stories of helpless people.
